For linking purposes. The song I wrote for graduation last year.
Student: Oh, must this be?
Student: Oh, must this be?
Is this the end?
After this day, will I
Really leave these things behind?
Teacher: Don’t you cry!
Look at the sky, oh
Can’t you see it
Smiling down at you?
Student: No, I thought we would be forever!
Why must we end this way?
Teacher: But dearest child, you can’t look back
You’ve lived your whole life for this day…
CHORUS
Sometimes it’s painful I know
Watching these memories die
But till you learn to let go,
You’ll never know how to fly
Birds don’t forget how to sing
No matter how far they might stray
Don’t you know, there are some things
That time can’t take away
From you
(Instrumental interlude)
Child, you must know this nest is
Only a place to rest and
Learn, learn to be strong
Some day, when you have flown
This, I have always known
I’ll pray, you find a place you belong
Yes it’s
CHORUS
Painful I know
Watching these memories die
But wherever you go,
We’re under the same blue sky
You must go! You must leave this nest
Take flight, see the very best
Of life, seek out that echoing song!
Student: Am I ready, am I too weak?
Will I find this song I seek?
Somehow, I fear to lose my way
How can I let the wind whisk me away?
Teacher: Trust yourself
Student: You’ve taught me well
Teacher: Take the sky
Student: Trust your compass
Teacher: Oh, it’s
CHORUS
Painful I know
Watching these memories die
But till you learn to let go,
You’ll never know how to fly
Birds don’t forget how to sing
No matter how far they might stray
Don’t you know, there are some things
That time can’t take away
Student: I’ll learn to let go
These memories don’t have to die
‘Cause wherever I go
We’re under the same blue sky
You have taught me to sing—
And someday, I’ll find you that song!
Both: This is farewell, I suppose
But who said this is the end? So long…

Is it enough to say I love this ad?
The words are "to arthur", "to martha", "to farmers", "to barbers", "to llamas", "tomatoes", "to parsnips", "to barters", "to martians", and "chihuahua".
Broken telephone ads just get me.

I'm ashamed that I haven't shared this video yet!
The images are astounding. Seeing the sky within reflective objects has always been one of my favourite images--and here, within the violins and within the piano and within the percussion..it's just breathtaking.
Rurutia's voice is...amazing in this very strange, very fresh way. I met someone with a similar voice in real life before; hearing her sing was wonderful. If I could, I'd translate this song. But for now I can only pick up snippets, and I'm already in love with these little pieces of the story.
OTDOTS Chapter 10 has come to 17,975 words. We're approaching the climax. Though I do fear I have done too little development towards it...

Just a quote from Lady Gaga that I found really, really beautiful, and simply had to share.
"There's something heroic about the way my fans operate their cameras. So precisely and intricately, so proudly, and so methodically. Like Kings writing the history of their people.
It's their prolific nature that both creates and procures what will later be perceived as the "kingdom".
So, the real truth about Lady Gaga fans lies in this sentiment: They are the kings. They are the queens. They write the history of the kingdom, while I am something of a devoted jester.
It is in the theory of perception that we have established our bond. Or, the lie, I should say, for which we kill. We are nothing without our image. Without our projection. Without the spiritual hologram of who we perceive ourselves to be, or to become rather, in the future.
When you're lonely,
I'll be lonely too.
And this is the fame."

"It doesn't matter where you start--destiny always lies at the end."
Ripped straight out of one of my stories. It'd be fun to see how people respond. Haha :D
Man, you know the proclamation I made in the car today, don't you.
It was "I wish I could design my own building! Imagine living in a building you designed myself!"
So if I'm going to be building a monument, it's gotta be a building that people can live in.
Ehehehe! I think I'd love to build a large building made out of glass (with proper precautions to ensure it doesn't overheat, though), a la Louvre museum--but of a more vertical (and yet more unconventional) outer structure. I'm a lover of glass and wide windows, you see.
As for type of building, I'd love it to be an airport (airports = <3).
( MUSIC GEEKERY ALERT )
The weather right now is awesome, by the way. In an equatorial country like mine, 24 degrees Celsius is like night-time temperature. Except it's 3pm right now. Ahhhhh.

This is a complete and very gushy expounding on why I love the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack. The piece I chose to look at is the finale piece (Coming Back Around), which plays during the last scene of the movie.
